The Silvermine Tavern was once a defining landmark for the wooded Silvermine area that overlaps Norwalk, Wilton and New Canaan, Conn. Set along the Silvermine River among other historic buildings from the area’s early days as a mill village, the white-clapboard tavern in Norwalk drew out-of-towners with its reputation as a Sunday brunch destination, wedding backdrop and jazz spot.
